She was born Sept. 23, 1919 in Lourdes, daughter of William and Evelyn Hunt O'Brien. She married Arthur L. Schwickerath on Sept. 2, 1936 in Elma. He died Oct. 2, 1995.
She was the founder and past President of the Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4074, Cedar Falls.
Survived by: a son, Eugene (Sandee) Schwickerath of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Georgia Lee (Michael) Bashta of Evansdale; a granddaughter, Terri Lee Fritze; two grandsons, Shane Schwickerath and Ronan (Lisa) Schwickerath; six great-grandchildren; a foster great-grandson; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Elizabeth (DeWayne) Krueger of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: her husband; a son, William Henry; two brothers, Edward and William O'Brien; four sisters, Myrtle Walter, Cecilia Richardson, Bernice Schmauss and Marguerite Schoebrl; a foster grandson, Terry Heidemann-Schwickerath.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls, with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum, Waterloo. Public visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. Fraternal Order of Eagles # 4074 walk-by. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church.
