Glen grew up in Fergus Falls Mn, he contracted polio as a child. When his father retired from Otter Tail Power Co they moved to Pasadena CA in the 1936, he earned his nickname "Flash" by shagging balls for the Chicago White Sox during their Spring training in Pasadena (1933-1942, 1946-1950) shortly after his father died the family moved in 1952 to a new tract home development in Torrance CA, when my father started high school there in 1954 he reestablished and kept the nickname "Flash" by helping at Torrance High School Athletics in the 50's -70's he was never allowed to drive a car so he rode a bicycle everywhere, even from Torrance to Pasadena to watch the annual Rose Parade, his life was tragically cut short when he was hit by a car and killed.
