A resident of Walker, he died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, 1996, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 75 and a native of Corbin. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Visiting was held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Boyd Hood, the Rev. Robert Martin and the Rev. Delmas Taylor. Interment in Palmetto Cemetery, Walker.

Survived by wife, Oma Crotwell Grout; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Lorraine Grout; and grandchildren, Joshua William-Robert Grout and Cori and Robert Walton. Survivors reside in Walker.

Preceded in death by father, James David Grout; mother, Estelle Donegan Grout Arceneaux; and a brother, Joseph Grout.

Pallbearers will be Robert Walton, Ronnie Small, Felix Blanchard, Oakley Broussard, James David Grout and Jimmy Crochet. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Grout, Shelby Crochet, Kenneth Coburn, Bobby Allen, Donald Allen and Ray Crotwell.
