A lady I worked with had a friend who was moving and needed to re-home her Cockatiel.I went to visit and check the bird out and fell in love with him. Charlie had suffered a wing clipping by an amateur, and one of his wing feathers did not regrow correctly. But, that didn't keep him from getting around.
Charlie was a love bug, and very smart. His vocabulary expanded to over 20 different words and phrases.
Charlie was a very sensitive soul and spent countless hours perched on my shoulder nibbling my ear, giving sage advice, and eating his favorite food, toast.

Charlie had the canny ability to know when I was coming home before actually coming in the door. I could hear him carrying on and whistling as I came up the steps. He was always happy to see me, and we had many bird to human conversations.

There were some days when I was feeling pretty low. Charlie was my best friend, and wouldn't allow me to get depressed for too long.

I'm grateful to have had this fellow in my life.
