The funeral for Jean Stoneman Lawson, 70, of Bassett, who died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Bassett, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bassett Funeral Service with Pastor Donnie Conner officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born in Lexington, N.C., on Jan. 29, 1940, to James Edward Gullett and Edna Miller Gullett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry E. Stoneman; second husband, Wayne M. Lawson; brothers, Joe Gullett and Ed Gullett Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Ann Gullett.

She was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah S. Martin of Bassett; stepdaughter, Patty Kiser of Vinton; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Winebarger of Bassett and Virginia Schneider and Brenda Sue Montrief, both of Florida; and three brothers, Garland Wayne Gullett of California and Alvin Gullett and Fred Gullett, both of Florida.
