Prudence Theresa (Penfold) Denhof passed away November 4 in Texas, just one week short of her 70th birthday. She was born in Grand Rapids and graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in 1954 and worked for many years as a scrub nurse for Grant Hospital and as a waitress for Brann's Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Gary Denhof of Kent City. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Nancy Shirey Denhof of Grand Rapids and their children, Alexa and Nick; son, Garry Denhof of Kent City and his son, Dane and her daughter and son-in-law, Kalli and Barry Conway of Kilgore, Texas and their children, Paige and Tatum. She is also survived by two brothers, Revel and Elisabeth Penfold and Joe Penfold, all of Grand Rapids and a sister, Anna Marie of Salem, Oregon. A memorial service was held November 6 in Kilgore,Texas where she has been living for the last six years with her daughter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Van Andel Institute.
