Molly M. Schwobe, age 102, a resident of the Calumet Homestead, formerly of Chilton, died on Tuesday November 2, 2004 at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein.
She was born on September 21, 1902 in Charlestown daughter of the late William and Caroline (Schmid) Anders. She married Anton Schwobe on September 1, 1930 at St. Augustine's in Chicago, IL.
She worked as a nanny for 14 years in Chicago, before the couple moved to the Tn. of Charlestown where they farmed from 1932-1953. Anton preceded her in death on September 24, 1955, after which she began working at the Chilton Hospital retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton, the Christian Mothers, the Mission Society, Daughters of Isabella, G.U.G. Germania Society, the Chilton Senior Citizens, and she loved playing Sheepshead and gardening.
She is survived by her son: Donald Schwobe and fianc?e Arla Brunn from New Holstein; 6 grandchildren: John (Linda) Schwobe of New Holstein, Barbara (Dave) Miller of New Holstein, Joanne Schwobe of Appleton, Christine Schwobe of Chilton, Bill Schwobe of Sheboygan, Dave (Donna) Schwobe of Shawano; 8 great-grandchildren: John Michael Schwobe, Terri (Terry) Russell, Dustin and Megan Schwobe, and Chad, Liz, and Curt Miller, and Ryan Schwobe; one great great-grandchild: David Schwobe. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Dorothy Schwobe; 8 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM on Monday November 8, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton with the Rev. Gary New S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friend may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St. Chilton, from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday November 7, 2004 and again on Monday at the funeral home from 10 to 11AM when family prayers will be held. Parish prayer services will be held on Sunday evening at the funeral home at 6 PM. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Molly Schwobe for Chilton Area Catholic Schools.
