ERNEST CARL F. BOJE
Ernest Carl F. Boje, well known in Waseca, passed away at his home at 311 Ninth avenue S. E., on Wednesday at 12:06 a. m. He was 61 years old and death was caused by hardening of the liver.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m., at the Pfaff Funeral Chapel with Rev. G. E. Martin officiating. Pall bearers will be Peter Thorson, Edw. Peterson, Herman Oestreich, Howard Winge, Paul Stucky and Chris Martinson. Burial will be made in Woodville cemetery.
He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Bernard (Ethel) Lewison of Owatonna, Arnold Boje of Waseca, Mrs. Thomas (Natalie) Conelly of Owatonna and Mary Lou Boje at home. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; a half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Senah, and his mother, Mrs. Bertha Feltz, both of Berlin, Germany.
Ernest Carl Frederick Boje was born in Berlin, Germany, on March 4, 1886, the son of Bertha and Wilhelm Boje. He was educated in Germany and came to this country in 1913, when he was 27 years old. He accepted employment with Wolf & Habein Company, in the shoe department that the concern then operated, remaining with them until 1928. He then opened a shoe store in Waseca several doors north of the First National Bank and operated the business until 1935, when he closed it out. He accepted a position with the canning company in 1936. He was active until July, 1947, when he became too ill to work. He moved his family from Mankato, where they lived for three years into a new home here which he had just constructed, two weeks before his death.
