Mrs. Ernest Boje Rites Saturday
Mrs. Ernest Boje, 59, 311 9th Ave. S. E., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2 quite suddenly while visiting at the home of her son, Arnold, of this city.
She had suffered a slight stroke, Dec. 13, which had left her arm paralized. She had been ill about two months, but her health seemed to be improving.
Wednesday noon her daughter, Mary Lou, took her to the home of her son, Arnold. Mrs. Boje had been assisted in the removal of her wraps, and May Lou had returned to her employment at the Gasner garage. Mrs. Boje was visiting with her daughter-in-law, when she suffered a second stroke. She immediately lapsed into unconsciousness from which she never recovered, passing away at 2:15 p. M.
Pearl Lydia Billiard, daughter of Paul and Mary Billiard, was born Oct. 29, 1889, in Waseca. Her parents were pioneer residents of Waseca and operated the old Hotel Nicollet. She attended Oak Grove school in Waseca.
January 6, 1915, she was united in marriage to Ernest C. Boje of Berlin, Germany. After their marriage the couple made their home in Waseca where Mr. Boje was employed for many years at the Wolf & Habein store. Later he owned and operated a shoe store here. In 1944 they moved to Mankato and lived there until 1947, when they returned to Waseca.
Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 20, 1947.
Surviving are four children: Mrs. Bernard (Ethel) Lewison, Owatonna; Arnold Boje, Waseca; Mrs. Thomas (Matalie) Conelly, Owatonna; and Mary Lou Boje at home.
Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Guy (Lulu) Miller, Waseca, Mrs. John (Esther) Vogt, Danube; and Mrs. Arthur (Adeline) Rogers, Waseca. There are eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Boje was a member of the Methodist church of Waseca, of the Ladies Circle of that church and a member of the Women’s Local Union No. 487.
Funeral services will be held Sat. Feb. 5, at 1:30 p. m. at the Methodist church, Waseca. Rev. G. E. Martin will officiate and interment will be in Woodville cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Peter Thoreson, Edward Peterson, Leonard Bathke, George Mahler, Edward Staehlin and William Christ.
