Abraham Gavensky was born in 1870 under the name of Abram Gawenski in Lida, Grodno, Belarus. He met and married Mina Kapalsky and raised a handful of children. They made the bold and brave decision to pack up their lives in Russia and embark on a new journey during a chaotic, and dangerous time to America on Feb 1, 1917. Their journey was not without hardship, their descendants scattered around the globe in New York, Florida, California, Connecticut, London and other various locations. It is hard to believe it all started here.
