ROSSVILLE, GA - Jimmie Lee Kisor, 80, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013, in a local hospital.

Jim was a native of Centre, AL, and had lived in Rossville for the past 54 years.

He was employed as a welder with Combustion Engineering and retired with 30 years of service.

Mr. Kisor was a member of Fairview Baptist Church for 54 years where he served as a deacon and on various committees throughout the years, and he was a member of the Harvesters Sunday School class.

He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served during the Korean War and was a member of Boilermakers Union #656.

His passions in life were God, church, family, Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves, and working in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Jo Kisor; brother, Emmit Kisor; sister, Lela Belle Broom; and parents, John and Hazel Kisor.

Survivors include his children, Larry (Sharon) Kisor, Cindy Morris, all of Rossville, GA, and Gregg (Christy) Kisor, of Chickamauga, GA; grandchildren, Allison Kisor, Scott Kisor, Emily Kisor, Cassie Morris and Abby Kisor; brothers, Jack Kisor, Gadsden, AL, and Bill Kisor, Centre, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the South Crest Chapel with Pastors Jim Bennett and David Pickard officiating.

Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with military honors.

Members of the Harvesters Sunday School class and deacons of Fairview Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Selmon Franklin and Dr. James Hoback for the special care given over the years and his neighbor Sonny Tucker and good buddy, Ronald Ellis for being such great friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 -8 p.m. Saturday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
