Doris passed away at McLaren Bay Region, age 91. She was the daughter of the late August H.M. and Minna A. (Schulz) Meyer in Munger and had resided in this area all her life. For many years she worked as a machinist in the light manufacturing industry, was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church (Amelith) and L.W.M.L., she enjoyed bowling and traveling and especially spending time with her family.
She married Theodore G. Weiss, he predeceased her on January 17, 1999. She is survived by 5 children, Dale (Marijke), Wayne, Jared (Marlyn), Jane (Steven), Clyde (Patricia), 17 grandchildren, Chris, Katherine (Aaron), Rosan, Chad (Monya), Matthew (Melinda), Kevin,(Amanda) Theodore,(Rebecca), Brandi, Shane (Laura), Joel, Tyler (Abby), Cecily, Whitney, Matthew, Michael, Mitchell, 11 great grandchildren, 6 sisters and brothers in-law and several special nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a son, Virgil, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 29, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. Curtis Adams will officiate with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Doris's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. On Tuesday morning, Doris will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
