Anna Raye Hamilton, loving wife, mother and grandmother, graduated to be with the Lord on Friday, the 28th of December 2012, after her frail heart finally gave up. She was 75.
Anna was born on the 28th of January 1937, in Nashville, Tennessee. She and her husband Chuck were always ready for adventure and travelled extensively all over the world. Her real life vocation, however, was family and the worship of the Lord through her church. It was for many years at Grace Baptist in Nashville where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. When her daughter Jamie moved to Houston, so did Anna. It did not take Jamie and Anna long to find Second Baptist, which became the family's spiritual home. Anna volunteered in a variety of church and school administrative positions at Second Baptist. She often worked in the school library, but for some reason, only on the days that her grandson Harrison would be scheduled to visit. She especially loved her Joy of Living Bible class, which she attended for eight years. Anna loved the Lord, loved her husband Chuck, adored and was best friends with her only child, Jamie. She felt her only grandson, Harrison, was her perfect ""sweet boy"". You would always see her at every concert, awards ceremony or athletic event that Harrison was involved in. She loved deeply and without reservation, and was fiercely strong, and protective of those she loved. Although she lived in Houston for 35 years, a large part of her heart remained in Tennessee. The Smokey Mountains was her favorite place to visit, and always had to stop along the way to put her feet in the creek. To say she will be dearly missed seems lacking in verbiage, but says it all.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Cheatam Glenn; mother, Rachel Beazley; brother, Tom Beazley; and most recently, her best friend of 42 years, Betty Greene of Nashville, Tennessee. She is survived by her loving husband Chuck; daughter, Jamie Coons and her husband Ken, and their son Harrison; brother, Roger Beazley; sister, Gloria Mellor; brother-in-law, Danny Harrison and his wife Tula; stepson, Steve Hamilton, M.D. and his partner Tom; stepdaughter, Holly Kutalek and her husband John, their son, Chris, and daughter Kimberly Kutalek Williams; stepdaughter, Dana McMahon and her husband Sean, their sons, Jake and Luke; great stepchildren, Payton Medlock and Kaysen Buchanan, Tim and Cindi Ernest of New Orleans, Louisiana; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and lastly, her loving canine companion, Coco.
