Helen Edblom

Services will be held Nov. 28 for Helen Neal Edblom of Eugene, who died Nov. 23 of age-related causes. She was 96.

Edblom was born Aug. 20, 1898, in Augusta, Okla., to Ira and Laura Gilbert Bartle. She moved to Eugene from Carmen, Okla., in 1905 and attended the University of Oregon for two years. She married Harold Edblom in Eugene on July 2, 1921. He died Jan. 15, 1976.

A housewife, Edblom volunteered during World War II for the Aircraft Warning System. Her hobbies included collecting spoons from around the world.

Survivors include a son, Philip of Eugene; a daughter, Dorothy Bettis of Eugene; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Monday's service is at 1 p.m. at Good Samaritan Center in Eugene. Inurnment will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. England's Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
