Born January 22, 1918 in Williamsburg, he was the son of the late John and Naomi Laudermilk Alsip.
He retired after 26 years as a skilled buffer for Newtone. He was a former member of the Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Covington, where he was a deacon for 25 years, a member of the Keystone Sunday School Class and Senior Citizens Bible Study class. He was a member of the Burner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Blanche Newby Alsip, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Lela Crain, Campbellsville; Mrs. Marie Lackey, Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Alsip and Charles Alsip, one sister, Hazel Wilkerson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Crain, Len Crain, Ronnie Patton, Ed Alsip, Jerry Newby and David Lackey.
