Dennis Dayhoff, 81, of Clovis, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1924, in Detroit, Kan., to Aaron and Bertha Hoover Dayhoff.

He graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. He married Ramona Kekec on Nov. 21, 1951, in Pittsburg, Kan. He came to Clovis in 1954. He owned and operated Dayhoff Shoes from 1954 until 2003. He married Wanda Lee Giles on July 18, 1970, in Clovis. He was a member of the Clovis/Portales Elks Lodge. Family members said he loved jogging, playing poker, fishing, and spending time at the shoe store.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Dayhoff (and wife, Linda) and Mark Dayhoff (Debbie), all of Clovis; three daughters, Rhonda Webster and Companion Wayne Davis of Lubbock, Texas, and Denise Wall (Gary) and Dana Harmon (Tom), all of Clovis; his first wife, Ramona Dayhoff of Clovis; a step-son, Clint McIntosh of Clovis; two step-daughters, Kenda Henderson of Santa Fe and Linda Morris of California; four grandchildren, Dustin Dayhoff, Monica Lott, Denay Hounshell, and Lindsey Looper; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Lott, and Ava Hounshell; a brother, Herbert Dayhoff (Jean) of Albuquerque; and a sister, Nelda Horan of Abilene, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; his parents; two sisters; and a brother.

The Rev. Doug Brooks will officiate the services.

Pallbearers are Gary Wall, Tom Harmon, Wayne Davis, Lance Looper, Troy Hounshell, Dustin Dayhoff, and Charles Lott.
