Iona Stout Burner, 85, of Parkersburg, died Sunday morning after an extended illness.

She was born in Hebron, daughter of the late Christopher and Minerva Barker Hanlin. She retired after 35 years with the General Services Administration.

She is survived by one son, Carl Stout, Jr. Of Vienna; one daughter, Betty Jane Chichester of Central; two brothers, Charley Hanlin of New England and Zennie Halin of Vienna; six sisters, Ella Burner of Vienna, Rhoda Tibbs of Middletown, OH, Zella Pratt, Delphia Calahan and Martha Davis, all of Parkersburg, and Vannie Shearon of St. Marys.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Burner, in 1950.

Services were held at 11am Tuesday at the Vaughan Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
