Mrs. Agnes was born March 3, 1902, in Hawarden, the daughter of John and Margaret (Lynn) McManaman. She married Matt Agnes in 1924 at Hawarden. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He died in 1978 and she returned to Hawarden at that time. She moved into the Hass Hillcrest Care Center in February 1988.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Agnes of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mary Carney of Austin, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
