Arthur Bass of Florida, formerly of Brookline, entered into rest Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at the age of 86. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and the proprietor of Delta Electric Service for 35 years.

Mr. Bass was the devoted husband and life partner for 63 years of Rosalyn (Frades) Bass; dear father of Howard Bass and his wife, Stacy, of Westport, Conn., and Joni Bass Brown and her husband, Chuck, of Framingham; proud grandfather of Jeffrey and Scott Brown, and Ilysa, Benjamin, Michael and Emily Bass.

A graveside service will take place at Temple Emeth Memorial Park, West Roxbury, today, at 1 p.m. Shiva will take place at the home of Joni and Chuck Brown this evening, through the evening of Sunday, Nov. 30, and also will take place at the home of Howard and Stacy Bass the evening of Thursday, Nov. 27, through the evening of Monday, Dec. 1.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be donated to the Bethesda Memorial Hospice and Palliative Care Unit, 2815 South Seacrest Boulevard, Boynton Beach, FL 33435 or to the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Ave. South, 17th Floor, NY, NY 10016.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon St., Brookline.
