Funeral services for J.F. Adair, age 88, of Enid, will be 10:00am Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with full Masonic Rites. The Rev. Susan Southall will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.

J.F. was born November 25, 1924 in Oilton, OK to Richard B. Adair, Sr. and Charlotte (Able) Adair. The family moved to Yale in January 1925. Then, in December 1936, they moved to Enid. He attended Longfellow Jr. High and Enid High School. On December 9, 1942, alone with his brother, they joined the U.S. Army. They served during World War II, landing in France on June 29, 1944. They earned the World War II Victory, Four Battle Star, European Theater Ribbon, French Croix de guerre and Good Conduct Ribbons. They stayed together all through their service time and were discharged December 31, 1945.

On March 10, 1946, J.F. went into the dry cleaning business with his father and brother. He retired in 1989. He married Phyllis Winkleman on March 16, 1947. This ended in divorce in June 1960. Together, they had three sons, one was stillborn. J.F. married Marie M. Worthen on November 20, 1990.

J.F. is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Don Adair of Rockledge, FL and Robert Keith Adair of Goddard, KS; one sister, Mary Sue Harms; sister-in-law Mildred Adair, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one son, one sister; one brother. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Shriner's Hospital.
