Countess of Rothes and Titanic survivor.

Born on Christmas of 1878.

First husband was Norman Leslie, 19th Earl of Rothes (from 1900 to his death in 1927). They had two sons: Malcolm George Dyer-Edwardes Leslie and John Wayland Leslie.

Boarded the Titanic in First class with her parents (disembarked at Cherbourg), her cousin Gladys Cherry, and her maid Roberta Maioni.

When the Titanic sank on April 15th, 1912; Lucy, Gladys, and Roberta survived the sinking in Lifeboat #8.

She help boost the morale of the women in the lifeboat and command the lifeboat by taking the tillar to row towards the SS Carpathia.

Following Norman's death in 1927, she remarried to Colonel Claud Macfie.

Interviewed by Walter Lord for his 1955 book "A Night to Remember". During one of their interviews at a New York resturant, she heard the band in the resturant play "The Tales of Hoffman". She told Walter Lord that she heard the band on the Titanic play that song during dinner on April 14th, 1912.
