Alice Cora (Akers) Baker, 89, of Tazewell (rural), died at the Claiborne County Hospital, July 21 (1969).
She had been engaged as a housewife.
Survivors: a daughter, Miss Lola Baker, Tazewell; sister, Mrs. Joe (Laura Mae) Roy, Alva, Kentucky; brothers: Gordon (David) Akers, Corbin, Kentucky, (Joseph) Arthur Akers (Sr.), Pineville, Kentucky, (Edgar) Ed Akers, Crothersville, Indiana, and (Marion) Nellie Akers, Comden, Ohio.
(Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Baker; a son, John H. Baker; her parents, David Stewart and Rachel Emma Marcum Akers; sisters: Martha V. "Mattie" Akers Monday, Sarah "Sallie" Lou Akers Yeary, and Rissie Akers Roy; brothers: the Rev. James Luther Akers, Wm. C. Akers, and Rabern Akers.)
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L.S. King officiating. Burial was in the Buchanan Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Paul Bean, Orville Akers, Paul Akers, Curtis Akers, Hoyle McNeil and Curtis Buchanan.
