Jo Ann Healey, age 82, of Springfield, MO passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Cox Hospital. She was born on April 21, 1930 in Springfield, MO, to Joseph E. and Genevieve Healey. Jo Ann graduated from St. de Chantal Academy - Elfindale, received a B.S. in Education from SMSU, and a Masters in Home Economics Education from University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Jo Ann's teaching career included St. Agnes Elementary, St. Agnes High School, Jarrett Junior High, Central High School, Hillcrest High School, and Glendale High School, retiring from the Springfield Public Schools in 1985 after 26 years of service. Jo Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and was actively involved in many organizations throughout her life including the Pilot Club of Springfield in which she held both member and officer positions, volunteered at The Kitchen, the Literacy Council, Springfield Tourist Bureau, Docent at the Springfield Art Museum, Springfield Little Theater Guild, Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Kappa Gamma, and several bridge clubs. Jo Ann loved to entertain in her home and prepare wonderful meals for all to enjoy. Playing bridge was her passion during her retirement years. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Joe E. Healey, Jr. She is survived by 2 brothers, Jim and Lucille Healey of Springfield, MO and Robert and Pearl Healey of Placitas, New Mexico, 8 nieces and nephews, and 20 great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Immaculate Conception Church, 3555 S. Fremont, Springfield, MO 65804. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.

Jo Ann first married Frank Lee Ward, Jr. May 29, 1958, at New London, MO. The couple were both teachers in the Hannibal, MO school system. She later married Mr. Rimmer.
