George F. Schultz was born Feb. 5, 1883 at Sandwich, Ill., he son of Mr. and Mrs. William Schultz. A sudden heart attack claimed his life on the afternoon of December 15, 1955; he was 72 years of age.

While yet an infant, Mr. Schultz moved with his family to Iowa. In 1886 they returned to Illinois and in 1903 came to Herman and took up residence on a farm 3 miles south of town.

On September 30, 1912 Mr. Schultz was married to Mabel A. Richards in St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Donnelly. In 1914 they moved to the farm in Stevens County where they have since made their home. Mr. and Mrs. Schultz had four children, all whom survive. They are Dorothy Schultz and Mary (Harold) Storey of Pasadena, California, Fred and George of Herman.

In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Schultz is survived by one sister, Mary (Earl) Newberger of Herman, and three brothers; Frank of Glendive, Montana, Fred of Dalton, Minnesota and Art of Huntington Beach, California. His parents, one sister, Mrs. Kate Fahlstrand, and three brothers, William J., Walter R. and Edward preceded him in death. Five grandsons and three granddaughters also survive.

Father Wm. Furlan officiated at final rites for Mr. Schultz at 9:30 a.m. on December 19 in St. Charles Catholic Church in Herman. He had served as a trustee of this church for many years. Interment was made in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
