David Wayne "Catfish" Alverson, 56, a Resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Born December 20, 1956, in Pine Bluff, he was a Son of Bobby and Luta B. Young Alverson.

Mr. Alverson was Reared and received his early Education in Pine Bluff.
He was a Grader Operator for the Arkansas State Highway Department for twenty-five years.

Mr. Alverson was also an Avid Commercial Fisherman, following in his Father's Footsteps.

Mr. Alverson was preceded in death by his Parents; his Ex-Wife, Wanda Alverson.

Survivors include his fiancé, Stacy Garriason of Pine Bluff; four Sons, Jason Alverson of Pine Bluff; Chad Thompson and Jake Vendable of Star City; and Bo Woodard of Louisiana; three Daughters, Brandy Ashcraft of Rye; Mandy Alverson of Pine Bluff; and Mandy Chadwick of Glendale; several Grandchildren; three Brothers, Sammy Alverson of White Hall; Greg Alverson of Pine Bluff; and Johnny Alverson and Wife, Kay, of Pine Bluff; two Sisters, Carolyn Jackson of Pine Bluff; and Brenda Hall of Watson Chapel.

The Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
The Funeral Service will be during the Visitation with Rev Sammy Alverson and Rev Gilbert Byrd Officiating.
Ralph Robinson & Son is in charge of cremation.
