He was a student manager of the North High Vikings football team, and he was a member of the ROTC program. In 1968 he graduated from Omaha North High School in Omaha, Nebraska.
In 1978 after he moved to Texas, he worked as an assistant manager at Sonic Drive-In in Crockett. It was at Sonic that he met the love of his life Diana Coley. In 1979 they were married and began their family. Together they had 4 children Cherie, Michael, Samantha, and Lisa. In 1994 Fred went to work at Wal-Mart Distribution Center # 6036, there he spent 14 years. In 2007 he went to work for Spencer Distribution working at Mr. D's convenience store.
Fred enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved spending time with his family, at times coaching his children in baseball, helping learn to play music, or just giving a little often needed advice. Fred often stated that he felt as if he were the richest man in the world as long as he had his family. Fred had a love for people and was blessed with the gift of gab. People often stated that he had a smile that would light up a room, and that he would give the shirt off his back for anyone never questioning or expecting anything in return, always saying, "It will get better."
Fred is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diana Coley Robinson; daughter, Cherie Neal and husband Tommie of Palestine; son, Michael Robinson and his wife Robin of Hallsville; daughter, Samantha Myers and husband Johnny of Palestine; daughter, Lisa Richmond and husband Clayton of Palestine; his mother, Katherine; his aunt, Jeannie Mahr of Omaha, NE; a brother, George Robinson, sisters, Marlene Rose, Patty Keil, Marstelle Niedbalski, and Cheryl Knutson all of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
