Robert was the eighth of 13 children born to Florian J and Esther Eleanor (Diethelm) Van Sloun. He married Elaine Carol Cleveland. Together they had 3 children: Paul Harvey, Peter Michael, and Sonja Marie.

Van Sloun, Robert A. age 75, of Chaska. Preceded in death by his parents, Florian & Esther; siblings, Giles, Grace and Joyce. Survived by children, Paul, Peter (Tracy) and Sonja; grandchildren, Andy and Jonathan; brothers and sisters, George (Rolandis) Van Sloun, Joan Dressen, Jane Doll, Bill Van Sloun, Madge (Harold) Olson, Lou (Kathleen) Van Sloun, Molly (Eugene) Loberg, Lee (Mary) Van Sloun, Mark Van Sloun and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial service Tuesday, 11 AM at the Bertas Funeral Home, Visitation Monday, 4-7 PM, 200 West 3rd St., Chaska, and also one hour prior to the service. Interment Guardian Angels Cemetery.
