James Moyer Blankenship, 87, of Salem, passed away Monday, August 15, 2005. He was preceded in death by a son, John Allen Blankenship, and his son, John Allen, Jr. His surviving family includes his wife of 61 years, Florastene Conner Blankenship and wife Trudy; daughter, Helen Coleman and husband, Ivan; brothers, Ralph Blankenship of Roanoke and Frank Blankenship of Front Royal; sisters, Ruth Underwood of Roanoke and Ada Pratt of Salem; grandchildren, James Lee Blankenship, Tina Embrey, Shelia Blankenship, Andrew Coleman, and Benjamin Coleman; and five great grandchildren. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the John M.
