Wilma "Willie" Lee Nichols was born to Eddie May (Gipson) and John C. Nichols in Hatfield, Arkansas, on November 18, 1927. She passed away on October 7, 2007, after a brief illness. Wilma graduated from high school in Hatfield. The family relocated to Yakima where she has lived for over 60 years.

Wilma married Henry "H.T." Deason. Their son Wayne was born in 1948. Henry died in a plane crash when Wayne was just 10 weeks old.

Wilma later married Warren Cox, and they were married 48 years until his death.

They were avid square dancers for many years with Wilma sewing many of her dance dresses.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; granddaughter and two great granddaughters.
