Evan Park Howell, Jr., youngest son of Capt. Evan Park Howell and the former Miss Julia Adelaide Erwin, was born on the 13th of September 1881. His father was a well known member of Atlanta and a respected veteran of the Civil War.

Evan Howell was educated at schools in Atlanta and prep school at Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana. He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia.

In 1909, Evan P. Howell, Jr. married Mrs. Georgia [née Gaston] Dickinson, eldest daughter of Judge J. B. Gaston and Jane Bentley Gaston of Gainesville. Their father's had been respected Mayors of their home towns. Georgia Dickinson was the widow of Gardner Edward Dickinson of Savannah; with whom she had two children. Evan and Georgia had a daughter Adelaide, named for her paternal grandmother.

During World War I, Evan Howell served as a 2nd Lieut. Co. C, QMC Corps, 312th Labour Battalion; promoted 1st Lieut. on November 5th and promoted Captain January 12th 1918.

In 1919, Evan Howell and Georgia were divorced. Evan then married Ruth Lamar Cox on March 20th 1919 in Atlanta. No known children were born to this union.

Evan Park Howell, Jr. departed this life at the home of his brother in Buckhead on August 11th 1934; age 52 years. He was laid to rest in the Howell Family plot at Westview Cemetery.
