HAMMAN, JOHN
John Hamman, a successful young attorney with land and corporation practice as his specialty, is a son of Gen. William H. Hamman, the well-known Houston citizen whose career is described on another page.
John Hamman was born at Calvert, Robertson County, Texas, December 29, 1878, began his education in the Calvert public schools and continued in the Houston high school, and a few days after arriving at his majority was admitted to the Texas bar. For three years he was engaged in general practice in east Texas, but in 1903 located in Houston. His father being one of the strongest land and corporation lawyers of the state, he has followed him in the same special line of practice and has made a reputation in this department of the profession.
Mr. Hamman married, in 1906, Miss Frances Transom, who was born in Philadelphia. They have one son, John, Jr. Historical Review of South-East Texas, Vol 2, by Dermot Hardy and Maj. Ingham S. Robert, by The Lewis Publishing Company, Chicago, 1910
