"Eva" Rumpel, born about 1764, daughter of Johannes and Anna Catharina Kuntz Rumpel (shown as Rumbold in the DAR database, which is an old German spelling, as is the female spelling Rumplin); named or nicknamed after her mother's mother Anna "Eva" Bender Kuntz;


Eva, first wife of Jacob Hileman, married 1785 Berks County, Pennsylvania; mother of Jacob b. 1786 and John b. 1788; moving from Pennsylvania to Cabarrus Co., North Carolina about 1789, where she and Jacob had their third and last son, George 1790. The three sons are well documented.


NOTE: on the Kuntz family (aka Cuntz) - "Hans Michael Kuntz, wife Anna Eva Bender" and several of their children, mentioned by name and age, are listed on an official ship manifest, The Dragon, as listed in Eighteenth Century Emigrants From the Northern Alsace to America; Picton Press, 1992, page 111. Publication Code 1031.10 The children listed are "John Theobald, Anna Catharina, Johann Daniel, Johann Bartholomaus, Johann Jacob and Hans Georg". (ages are given as well - which coincide with family members names and ages as documented)


NOTE: On her death and burial, a widow, she is living with her eldest son Jacob Jr., his wife and family, in Cabarrus Co., North Carolina. Jacob Jr. , his wife and several children are buried here as well. Jacob's burial and headstone are Memorial #104525609


*An entry found in the diary of Reverend Storch, a traveling German minister of Rowan and Cabarrus County, North Carolina, (translated from German) determines the date of death for Catharine and location of burial; 1793 - June 7, Begraden (buried) Jacob Heilmann's Frau (wife) on this date. Jacob remarries, his second wife being Christena Diehl in 1794 and in 1819, moves on to Union County, Illinois, with his two youngest sons as well as many others from Cabarrus, North Carolina, his eldest son purchasing the original homestead.


There are records of her marriage to Jacob Hileman and the birth of her three Hileman sons on file with DAR, as this Jacob is a documented Revolutionary Patriot, #A054224; In 2019 a DAR/SAR Bronze Memorial and Dedication ceremony, at the location of burial for the Patriarch Jacob was installed, St. John's Evangelical Church, Dongola, Union County Illinois.


Pioneer Sketches of Union County, Illinois By Dr. Sidney Condon (a Hileman/Diehl [2nd wife] descendant); First Published in a Weekly Articles In The Jonesboro Gazette, 1871, PAGE 109, states "Jacob Hileman and Eva Elizabeth Rumbold (aka Rumple), born about 1763 and died 17 Jun 1793, in North Carolina; was the largest or most numerous family in Union County". There are several pages dedicated to this particular family.


Eva's sister Johanna "Hanna aka Hassina" Rumple married John Hileman 1772-1816, a 1st cousin of this Jacob Hileman Sr. and not the son of this Jacob.
