Mr. Beckham was a Programmer for IBM Poughkeepsie. He retired in 1994. An avid sportsman, he played golf, softball and volleyball in IBM leagues. Cone was also a big fan of the University of Texas football and was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.
Born in Tyler, Texas on July 26, 1940, he was the son of Cone J. Beckham, Sr. And Verna Ivy Saling Beckham. He was a graduate of Knox College in Illinois and attended the University of Kansas. On June 8, 1963 he married Joan Lewin in Palatine, Illinois.
Mrs. Beckham survives at home. IN addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Cone Johnson, III and his wife, Damesik Beckham of San Francisco; daughters Catherine B. Heider and her husband, Joseph Stanley, of Nyack, NY and Nancy B Wolfe and her husgand Steven M., of Carmel, NY; and grandchildren, Karma and Sonam Beckham, Isabel and Claire Heider and Nathaniel Wolfe.
