Benjamin Taylor Dies At Age 66; Rites Saturday

Benjamin H. Taylor died at 12:45 pm Wednesday at his home, 1206 south 16th street, at the age of 66 years, one month and 24 days.

He was a former employe of the Mt. Vernon Car Mfg. Co.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Marsh Harpole will officiate and burial will be in Bethel Memorial cemetery.
The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 11 am Friday.

Mr. Taylor was born July 7, 1889 in Wayne county, the son of William and Ellen (Marshall) Taylor.

He was first married to Amanda Anderson, who preceded him in death January 12, 1929.

On January 1, 1931 he was married, in Wayne City, to Emma Weedon Sanders, who survives.

Mr. Taylor was a member of the Arrington Prairie general Baptist church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Taylor Pennington of Vienna, Ill., and Mrs. Myrtle Hicks of Mt. Vernon; two step-sons, Otis Taylor of Wayne City and Cecil Sanders of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Robinson of Danville; three half-brothers, John Taylor of Bluford, Henry Taylor of Champaign and Joe Taylor of Pontiac, Ill.; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
