Esther was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John Augustine Capestro. She is survived by her brother, Richard M. Burdge of Southampton, NY; her son, John S. Capestro and wife Pamela Cruse Capestro of Midlothian, VA; her son, Robert P. Capestro and wife, Carole VanEsselstine Capestro of Point Pleasant Beach; her daughter, Susan Capestro and husband Steve Gladstone of Lincoln, MA; her grandchildren, Stacey Capestro McGuire and husband Michael McGuire of Point Pleasant, Stephen R. Capestro and Kevin S. Capestro, both of Point Pleasant Beach, and Carrie Capestro Terbush and husband Scott Terbush of Richmond, VA; and her great-grandchild, Thomas Alexander Terbush.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at the family residence. In lieu of services or flowers, it was her desire that those who would pay final respects do so by anonymously performing some act of kindness toward a fellow human being. Burial is in the family plot at Atlantic View Cemetery in Manasquan. Weatherhead Young Funeral Home of Brick, was in charge of the arrangements.
