Marshall (MN) Independent, Fri. June 26, 1988, p. 2. MARSHALL – Services for Robert Babcock, 79, of Marshall will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshall. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at the Hamilton-Birk Funeral Home in Marshall and will continue at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Marshall cemetery. Mr. Babcock died Monday, June 22, 1998, at the Divine Providence Hospital in Ivanhoe. Robert Warner Babcock was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Lyon County to Athen and Pearl Kramer Babcock. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith. He attended country school near his family's farm. He was a farmer in the Marshall area for many years. He also had a love for horses – raising, buying, selling or just talking about them. He moved to an apartment in Marshall 18 months ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, two sisters and one brother.
