She was born on August 2, 1927 in Evansville, IN. She was a registered nurse with a Masters Degree in Health Education from the University of Evansville. Prior to her retirement in August 2000 she was employed as a State School Nurse Consultant with the Illinois State Board of Education in Springfield, Il. She was a member of the State of Illinois Professional Employee Union, Illinois Association of School Nurses, American Nurses Association, Indiana Teachers Association and many other community government organizations during her career.
Bettye is the daughter of Clifford and Dicy Nash of Wadesville, IN. She is survived by her close companion Robert Kovarik, her two daughters, Shirley Ann Simmons and her husband Brian, Sarah Jane Munoz and her husband Roberto. She has five grandchildren, Anna, Kimberly, and Heather Simmons, Daniel and Roberto Munoz, two great-grandchildren, London and Liam Munoz.
She had many close friends in multiple states. The family asks memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
Arrangements are by Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point. There will be no Services at this time.
