Amos Spencer, age 88, of Clarksville, passed away, Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mr. Spencer was a well known Mechanic and owned Spencer's Automotive Shop in Clarksville.

He was born November 14, 1924, in Clarksville to Benjamin Marcus and Nora Bell Perrin Spencer. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he was in the battles of Midway and Pearl Harbor and also served in the Korean War. He married Betty Elliott October 22, 1949, in Texarkana. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Stephen and Lyndon Spencer; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Aikin Grove Cemetery with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 7 at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Brian O'Dell, Ethan Wright, Kaleb Carico, Matthew O'Dell, James O'Dell and Michael Wright.

Survivors include his wife Betty Spencer; 2 sons, Bruce Spencer of Paris and Randy Spencer and wife Barbara of Lubbock; 1 daughter, Jacqueline O'Dell and husband David of Paris; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Kimberly, James, Erin and Mallory; 14 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Ross Spencer of Lubbock and Edward Spencer of Bogata.
