He was a member of the Jaycees in Longview. Phil was a floral designer in New York. During his tenure in New York he sent fresh flowers to Mary Tyler Moore's home every Friday. When President Ronald Reagan and Nancy where in New York the President would request Phil to design and make floral arrangements for their hotel suite.
