BARCLAY, ONA DARLENE Ona Darlene Barclay died Feb. 9, 2005 at age 69. She was born Ona Darlene Gjerman in Council Bluff, Iowa, July 31, 1935, and came to Portland with her parents and brother in 1947. She rode out the Vanport flood on a fire truck in 1948 and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She married Robert Allen Draper of Yakima in 1953; he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Ann La Bou and her beloved husband of 27 years, Tom Barclay. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Stevens; sons, Mark, Mike and David Draper; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and brother, Harold Gjerman. She retired from Owens Illinois is 2000, where she worked as shift supervisor (LQC) for 33 years and was known for her gentle manner, soft voice and beauty, was steadfast, strong-willed and combined many attributes to raise her children. Viewing from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12. Funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, 105th N.E. Halsey. Interment at Willamette National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14.
