MARSH, Jean B. Render, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Howell, MI. Born August 8, 1922 to Leo B. and Lottie Ermina (Crawford) Render in West Bloomfield Township, MI.

Jean attended and graduated from Pontiac High School in 1939. She married Guy Rendell Marsh of Toledo, OH on September 3, 1949 at Orchard Lake Presbyterian Church and lived in Farmington for many years before she and her family moved to the Howell area where she lived for the remainder of her life. Jean was Past Worthy Matron of Farmington Chapter #239 of the Order of Eastern Star and Past President of the Farmington Women's Club and derived great satisfaction from her association and involvement with both of these fraternal and community service organizations that were close to her heart. In her early years she was also an avid horsewoman and had a lifelong interest in and passion for horses. She was an active member of the Michigan Justin Morgan Horse Association and acted as show secretary for several years.

Jean was a proud mother of Jayne Elizabeth of Mason, MI and Richard Guy (Kris) of St. Helen, MI and three grandchildren whom she thought the world of: Nicholas of Clayton, NC, Danielle of Manassas, VA and Christopher of Howell, MI. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Guy (in 1992), brothers Frances and Leonard, and sisters Grace Bachelor, Fern Putnam, and Marion Reid. She is survived by her beloved sister Ruth of Howell, MI and brother Harold (Toni) of Manchester, MI; children Jayne and Richard; grandchildren, Nicholas, Danielle, and Christopher, and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Star Service 7:00 p.m.) at the Highland Chapel of The Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland. Funeral Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home. Interment at Pine Lake Cemetery, West Bloomfield Township, MI. Contributions in Jean's memory can be made to Farmington Chapter #239 of the Order of Eastern Star, c/o Sandra J. Rossin, Secretary, 36373 Old Homestead Drive, Farmington.
