ALBURGH - Florence Theresa Aubin, age 81 years, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at her Bay Road residence.

Born in North Hero on Aug. 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Itha (Menard) Aubin.

She attended the North Hero Elementary School and graduated from Mount Saint Mary's Academy in Burlington. Florence furthered her education receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity College as well as her Master's Degree from Middlebury College. She spent 28 years teaching English, French and Latin at Alburgh, Champlain, Lake George and Chestertown, all in New York, retiring back to her home at Alburgh in 1986. She also served for a time as principal of the Alburgh High School. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, knitting, quilting, dried flowers and cooking.

Florence leaves one sister, Mary Louise Baron of Colonie, N.Y.; a brother, Leon Aubin and his wife, Shirley, of Vergennes; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by two brothers, Emelien and Eugene Aubin; and a sister, Rita Chase.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. from St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church 9 N. Main St., Alburgh Village. Fr. Lawrence P. Ridgley will be the celebrant and homilist.

The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Aubin family lot in St. Amadeus Cemetery. Family and Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. To offer private online condolences please visit: www.kiddermemorialhome.com.
