James P. Hutchings, 93, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Grain Valley Cemetery, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Health & Rehab.
Jim was born November 20, 1919, in Grain Valley, MO, the son of William Earl and Edith Madaline (Tate) Hutchings. He was a 1937 graduate of Grain Valley High School. Jim was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Navy in Pearl Harbor. He was a mechanic and loved fast cars.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Mary in 1999.
His survivors include his daughter, Teresa Barnard of Blue Springs, MO; son, Kevin Hutchings & wife, Karla, of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren: Ryan Barnard, Chris Hutchings & wife Elyse, Kelly Hutchings, & Brodie Barnard; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Alexa, Lilah, Kaydin, & Max; sister, Mary Skaggs of Kansas City, MO; brother, Richard Hutchings & wife, Mary Ann of McKinney, TX; and many nieces & nephews.
