Lyle Grass was born on June 28, 1925 in North Dakota to Carl Martin Grass aka Martin Boe and Elma Munson Grass. By 1930 the family was living in Blooming Prairie, Steele, MN. The family moved back to Albert Lea, Minnesota where other family lived, and by 1940 Elma listed herself as divorced.
Lyle served in the U S Navy in the Pacific during WWII. He married Mieko Yamauchi in 1954 at the American Council in Japan. They had three daughters and retired to live in Orange County, California.
