Frances was the daughter of Theon Alfred Zeno Wesley and Mary Matilda Miller. Her Father was a printer by occupation and was the Editor of the Waycross Journal for many years. Frances was a School Teacher in Portland, Maine prior to her marriage to Donnell David Hatch. Donnel was an actor. He and Frances were married on 6-7-1882 in Boston, Massachusetts,and thus began a vaudeville career together. Their family performed together using the stage name the Fielding Family. When they weren't performing on concert tours; Frances worked as a Compositor for any newspapers in areas where they were staying. Frances had a beautiful voice and was at one time a paid soloist in the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in New York. They had two daughters Elsie Elizabeth Hatch, and Mattie Isabel Hatch. They both also performed in vaudeville with their parents. Mattie used the stage name Maybelle Fielding and peformed in the Poli and Ely Dramatic Circuits. She performed in the Chicago Music Hall, Chicago, Illinois, and performed with the Chicago Rockettes. Frances died on July 7, 1896, in Providence, Rhode Island, of Chronic Plumbic Intoxication(lead poisoning) due to the exposure she had with printer's ink.
