George William "Bill" Dietz, 20, apparently took his own life at 4 a.m. today at an apartment at 501 East Sixth where he had been living since being discharged from the U.S. Navy several months ago.

Friends and relatives said that Dietz had planned to re-enlist in the Navy.

He was born in Helena, June 22, 1946.

Survivors include his parents, Alice Dietz and John W. Dietz of Helena; three sisters; Mrs. Melvin Taylor, McAllister, Okla.; Mrs. Darryl Allen, New Brownsfield, Tex., and Mrs. Murray of Helena; three brothers, John F. Dietz III of Three Forks and Robert and Timmy, both of Helena, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chapel services will be held at Hagler Mortuary at 11 a.m. Saturday followed by military graveside services at Forestvale Cemetery with Chaplain H. M. Waldron officiating.
