Born June 7, 1931, in St. Marys, Pa., he was the son of the late Ernest and Arlene Peterson Kennard.
He retired from Mack Trucks in Hagerstown where he worked as a machine operator.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Hagerstown Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Williamsport Loyal Order of the Moose, Williamsport American Legion Potomac Post 202, Conococheague Tribe Council 84 Rod and Gun Club, Amvets Post 38 of Hagerstown and the Hagerstown VFW Post.
He is survived by four daughters, Sandy Eckert and Cindy Hardesty, both of Ellwood City, Pa., Michelle Kennard of Greencastle, Pa., and Pam Lindstrom of West Sunbury, Pa.; a sister, Alice Simmons of Ellwood City; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
