WILLIAMSPORT - Arthur Woodrow Abbott Sr., 84, of 15806 Clear Spring Road, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, at his home.

Born in Mount Briar, Md., he was the son of the late George W. and Carrie Norris Abbott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Prudence Bussard Abbott, in 1993.

He retired from the Washington County Roads Department.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a member of AARP.

He is survived by two daughters,
Lorraine Weeks of King George, Va., and
Marcella A. Nicewarner of Hedgesville, W.Va.;
five sons,
Roger L. Abbott and
Donald E. Abbott, both of Greencastle, Pa.,
Arthur W. Abbott Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.,
Francis W. Abbott and
Ricky G. Abbott, both of Hagerstown;
two sisters,
Maxine Mikus of Keedysville and
Glendora Rohrer of Sharpsburg;
11 grandchildren; and
12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open today after 9 a.m.
