FUNKSTOWN - MRS RACHEL MARTHA ALGER, 62, of Antietam Trailer Court, died Tuesday at Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Williamsport, the daughter of Samuel and Laura Nave Poffenberger. She was a member of the Ringgold Church of Christ, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 453 of Springdale, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan G Alger; two daughters, Mrs. Cynthia A Herbst, Ringgold; and Mrs. Jeannette V Moore, New Kensington, Pa; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Martin and Mrs. Gyrien Bowers, both of Williamsport; Mrs. Woodrow Marks, Hagerstown; Mrs. John Weller, Cumberland, Md; one brother, James Poffenberger, Williamsport; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Leaf Funeral Home, Williamsport, with C Douglas Shoaff and the Rev Chester W Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Williamsport.
