John W. Jaroszynski, 84, of 21 Jackson Ave., W.E., died at 5:50 a.m. Friday (April 5, 2002) in the Lutheran Retirement Home. An area resident most of his life, he was born May 17, 1917, in Buffalo, a son of Anthony and Sophia Gulczynski Jaroszynski. He was employed by the former Crescent Tool Co. for 40 years, retiring as a tool and die maker in 1979. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and belonged to the Moose Lodge. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed hunting and gardening. He particularly loved spending time with his great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Josephine Casamento Jaroszynski, whom he married July 1, 1939; a daughter, Donna M. Hamel of Oswego; a son, J. David Jaroszynski of West Ellicott; four grandchildren: Laurel M. Hamel and Gregory J. Hamel, both of Oswego, Michele M. Hartweg of Jamestown and John ‘‘Jar’’ Jaroszynski of Falconer; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn ‘‘Dolly’’ Moyer and Mary Ann Whitford, both of Falconer, and Janice Swanson of Ashville; and two brothers: Richard Jaroszynski of Cassadaga and Frank Lewandowski of Greenhurst. He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Donato; and a brother, Arthur Jaroszynski. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
